Strategic Services Group provides employee benefits consulting services to clients across Michigan and the broader Midwest region. The firm’s leadership team, including Doug Roehm and Greg Sudderth, will continue to operate from their current location and will report to Brian Lomas, who oversees Gallagher’s Great Lakes region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.

The acquisition aligns with Gallagher’s ongoing expansion strategy in the United States. Earlier this year, the company acquired Imbs Holdings, Inc., a retail insurance broker based in Missouri, strengthening its footprint across the Midwest. In March, Gallagher also completed the landmark acquisition of Woodruff Sawyer, one of the largest privately held insurance brokerages in the US, in a deal valued at $1.2 billion. This acquisition significantly broadened Gallagher’s portfolio and reinforced its position within the national insurance market.
Gallagher’s growth strategy continues to focus on reinvesting its cash flow into acquisitions to expand both its geographical presence and service capabilities. Since 2020, the company’s revenue has more than doubled, while its total assets have nearly tripled. This consistent reinvestment approach has supported Gallagher’s rapid growth trajectory and enabled it to deliver enhanced value to its clients across multiple sectors.
The company now employs approximately 44,000 people worldwide and holds a 4.6% share of the US insurance brokerage market. With continued momentum in both domestic and international acquisitions, Gallagher remains focused on strengthening its client base, expanding its service offerings, and solidifying its position as a global leader in insurance brokerage and risk management services.
