EIS Becomes First Cloud-Native Insurance Core Platform Provider to Attain ISO/IEC 42001 Certification for Ethical AI Management
EIS, a global leader in cloud-native insurance core systems, has achieved a major industry milestone by becoming the first insurance technology provider to earn the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification, the world’s first international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS).

This landmark certification underscores EIS’s commitment to the ethical, transparent, and responsible development and deployment of AI technologies across its operations. It adds to the company’s suite of internationally recognized standards, including existing ISO certifications and System and Organization Controls (SOC) examinations.

The ISO/IEC 42001 standard, introduced in 2023, sets out rigorous requirements for managing the risks and impacts of AI, particularly around data protection, bias mitigation, and accountability. By meeting these requirements, EIS reinforces its dedication to building trust with customers, partners, and employees in an increasingly AI-driven insurance ecosystem.

“AI has been transformative for the insurance industry and will continue to be so,” said Mike Dwyer, Chief Technology Officer at EIS. “As the technology evolves, it’s vital that innovation is pursued responsibly to maintain the integrity of the insurance sector and protect the people who depend on it. Becoming the first insurance tech provider to earn ISO 42001 is a proud achievement for EIS and a testament to our commitment to ethical and forward-thinking innovation.”

The certification process, led by CPSI Certifications, was supported by CyberGuard Advantage LLP for SOC and engagement management services. The audit confirmed EIS’s robust AI governance practices, organizational awareness, and data protection protocols aligned with ISO/IEC 42001’s global standards.

“We are pleased to confirm that EIS has been awarded ISO/IEC 42001 certification following a rigorous and independent audit process,” said Dennis Cunanan, Managing Director of CPSI Certifications. “The audit demonstrated EIS’s proactive measures in ethical AI management, further strengthening its information security and risk frameworks amid the fast-changing AI landscape.”

EIS continues to lead digital transformation in insurance through its flagship platform, EIS OneSuite™. The cloud-native, event-driven architecture empowers insurers to build agile, customer-centric ecosystems. Its open design and seamless data integration enable the operationalization of AI across the insurance lifecycle—from customer engagement to underwriting, claims, and system development.

Achieving ISO/IEC 42001 marks another step in EIS’s ongoing journey toward responsible innovation and resilience, ensuring its AI practices meet the highest standards of transparency and ethical stewardship in the digital age.
