Cyata Emerges from Stealth with $8.5M to Secure the Rise of the AI Workforce
Cyata, the first control plane for agentic identities, has launched from stealth with $8.5 million in seed funding led by TLV Partners. The company addresses a growing cybersecurity gap as enterprises increasingly deploy AI agents without the necessary identity management or oversight mechanisms in place.

As AI agents are rapidly integrated across enterprises to enhance productivity, they are being entrusted with powerful capabilities – from writing code and accessing sensitive databases to triggering automated processes and financial transactions. These digital actors operate outside the bounds of traditional identity and access management (IAM) systems, posing significant risk. Unlike human employees or service accounts, AI agents can emerge instantly, scale in parallel, and make autonomous decisions, including flawed ones driven by hallucinations or poor judgment. Existing IAM frameworks are ill-equipped to manage this dynamic and increasingly powerful workforce.

Cyata’s platform introduces enterprise-grade identity controls tailored specifically for AI copilots, chatbots, and autonomous task agents. Its solution combines continuous discovery of agent identities and their privileges, real-time observability with audit trails that capture agent reasoning and intent, and just-in-time access controls with optional human-in-the-loop approvals for sensitive actions. By mapping each AI agent to its human owner and enforcing role-appropriate permissions, Cyata aims to restore visibility and control to enterprise security teams.

“AI agents represent the biggest leap in enterprise technology since the cloud – a self-scaling, sleepless workforce that codes, analyzes, and executes in seconds,” said Shahar Tal, CEO and co-founder of Cyata. “We focus on the actors, not the LLMs – because agents, not models, are the ones making decisions and triggering risk. Cyata gives security teams identity-grade controls built specifically for AI agents, so they can unlock their power – without losing control.”

The round included participation from notable angel investors, including former Cellebrite CEOs Ron Serber and Yossi Carmil. TLV Partners led the investment based on the team’s proven cybersecurity pedigree and the urgency of the AI identity problem. “Agent adoption is accelerating rapidly, and what we’re seeing today will be tenfold by next year – in both usage and risk,” said Brian Sack, Partner at TLV Partners. “Cyata’s team has already reshaped the digital forensics space, and they’re now applying that same deep expertise to secure the emerging AI agent ecosystem.”

Robert Burns, CSO at Thales Cybersecurity Products, added, “AI agents introduce a new layer of complexity. Their ability to act autonomously, scale rapidly, and interact across systems challenges existing models in new ways. Cyata’s focused work in this space highlights risks that many organizations haven’t yet fully surfaced.”

Cyata was founded by veterans of Unit 8200, Cellebrite, and Check Point, including Tal, a 20-year cybersecurity veteran who previously led malware and vulnerability research at Check Point and served in leadership roles at Cellebrite. VP R&D Dror Roth and CTO Baruch Weizman bring deep technical expertise from their work in elite military intelligence units and leading cybersecurity firms. The company’s Tel Aviv-based team of 12 includes a strong contingent from Cellebrite, with 60% of its leadership drawn from the digital forensics leader.
