Blink Parametric, a leading provider of parametric insurance solutions, has entered into a significant global agreement with MAWDY, a prominent insurance, reinsurance, and services company within the MAPFRE Group.

The collaboration will explore the integration and delivery of real-time parametric travel insurance solutions across the extensive MAWDY assistance product portfolio worldwide.

As part of this groundbreaking partnership, Blink Parametric has unveiled its inaugural collaboration with MAWDY Ireland, a branch of MAWDY. This strategic move responds to the growing demand for efficient real-time travel insurance solutions that offer support to travelers facing challenges such as flight delays and cancellations.

The initial phase of the partnership will see MAWDY Ireland offering world-wide flight disruption cover to its travel insurance customers. This unique offering ensures that eligible MAWDY Ireland policyholders experiencing flight disruptions exceeding three hours will receive instant access to over 1,300 executive airport lounges globally or a cash payout alternative. The benefits extend to both single trip and annual multi-trip travel insurance customers.

Upon registering their flight details, travelers will benefit from Blink Parametric’s real-time monitoring system. Any delays to the registered flight trigger immediate notifications through the parametric platform, presenting travelers with the option of executive lounge access or a cash payout—providing timely relief and mitigating the stress associated with travel disruptions.

The partnership marks a significant step forward in the collaboration between Blink Parametric and MAWDY and also addresses the evolving needs of travellers by offering tailored, real-time solutions to enhance their travel insurance experience. The Ireland partnership is expected to commence by covering segments of the direct book of travel insurance business and will subsequently expand to enhance various other MAWDY-insured travel insurance products and brands.
