AXIS Capital Holdings has appointed Anthony Izzo as Chief Commercial Officer, in a move aimed at strengthening its global commercial strategy and deepening broker and partner engagement.
Based between AXIS Capital’s Red Bank and New York offices, Izzo brings 35 years of industry experience to the role. He will be responsible for leading the group’s global commercial strategy and working closely with underwriting and regional teams to enhance market engagement.
The appointment supports AXIS Capital’s objective of driving profitable growth through its multi-variant distribution strategy and expanding access to new business opportunities across specialty lines.
Izzo will report to Vince Tizzio, who highlighted his experience across distribution, underwriting, and broking.
“Throughout his career, Tony has developed and grown strong commercial partnerships and mutually beneficial strategic relationships while driving disciplined growth across complex specialty markets,” said Tizzio. “His deep and varied experience across distribution, underwriting, and broking will be an asset to our team, as we continue to execute on our specialty leadership strategy and maximize how we bring our products and capabilities to the market.”
Izzo joins AXIS Capital from Everest, where he most recently served as EVP and Group Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing enterprise-wide commercial strategy and client relationships.
Prior to that, he held senior roles at Guy Carpenter, TransRe, Aon Benfield, and Willis Re.
