AXA UK Commercial has announced the appointment of Caroline Dunn as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), with effect from 1 July 2026.
Dunn joins AXA UK Commercial from Zurich UK, where she most recently served as Chief Underwriting Officer. In that role, she led underwriting strategy with a strong emphasis on technical discipline, portfolio performance and sustainable growth. Prior to joining Zurich, she spent seven years at Lloyd’s of London in senior underwriting positions, where she was responsible for underwriting oversight and performance across the Lloyd’s market business.

In her new role, Dunn will play a key part in supporting AXA UK Commercial’s ongoing evolution and transformation, as the business continues to focus on underwriting excellence and profitable growth.
Jon Walker, chief executive officer at AXA UK Commercial, said: “Caroline’s technical capability, strategic judgement, people focus and commitment to underwriting excellence will be a huge asset to our business as we continue to evolve, transform and deliver profitable growth. I am delighted to welcome her to AXA and look forward to the significant contribution I know she will make.”
Caroline Dunn added: “I’m really excited to be joining AXA at such a pivotal time. AXA has an impressive underwriting culture and a clear direction of travel. I’m looking forward to getting to know the teams and working closely together to build on the great foundations already in place. I’m passionate about underwriting excellence and transformation, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together for our customers and partners.”
The appointment further strengthens AXA UK Commercial’s senior leadership team as the insurer continues to invest in underwriting capability and long-term sustainable performance.
