Allianz SE has entered into a global partnership with Anthropic to accelerate the adoption of responsible artificial intelligence across Allianz, with a focus on empowering employees, automating operations through agentic AI, and ensuring strong regulatory compliance.
As part of the collaboration, Allianz is deploying Anthropic’s Claude models within its internal AI platform to support employees and enhance software development capabilities. Initial initiatives also include the creation of custom AI agents to automate workflows such as claims processing, while maintaining human oversight to support accountability and decision quality.

The partnership also includes co-developing AI systems designed to deliver transparency, traceability, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Allianz said these efforts are intended to strengthen trust, improve operational efficiency, and ensure AI systems are aligned with the high standards required in the insurance sector.
Oliver Bäte, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz SE, said: “With this partnership, Allianz is taking a decisive step to address critical AI challenges in insurance. Anthropic’s focus on safety and transparency complements our strong dedication to customer excellence and stakeholder trust. Together, we are building solutions that prioritize what matters most to our customers while setting new standards for innovation and resilience.”
Anthropic highlighted the importance of responsible AI deployment in industries with significant societal impact. Dario Amodei, CEO and Co-Founder of Anthropic, said: “Insurance is an industry where the stakes of using AI are particularly high: the decisions can affect millions of people. Allianz and Anthropic both take that very seriously, and we look forward to working together to make insurance better for those who depend on it.”
Through the partnership, Allianz and Anthropic aim to demonstrate how advanced AI technologies can be applied responsibly at scale, supporting innovation while maintaining strong governance, transparency, and trust across the insurance value chain.
