Every AI company at Insurtech Insights had a pitch. FurtherAI had its partners.

27 October 2026

In an industry that has heard every AI promise, the insurance platform built its credibility the hard way: in person, on real documents, with its customers doing the talking. A year after its first panel appearance, FurtherAI returned to Insurtech Insights USA with a plan, and turned two days in New York into a faster start to the sales conversations that matter most.

About FurtherAI

AI built for the documents behind every policy

Behind every policy sits a pile of documents: broker submissions, statements of values, loss runs, policy wordings. Reading, checking and comparing them is where much of an insurer’s time goes, and where most automation has struggled. Rigid tools break as soon as a document looks unfamiliar, while general-purpose AI can produce an answer without showing how it got there, which is not good enough for an underwriter, an auditor or a regulator.

FurtherAI was built to close that gap. Its agentic workspace pairs structured workflows, which make every output traceable, with an AI layer that copes with the messy variety of real insurance documents, while keeping people in charge of every judgement call. Carriers, MGAs, brokers and reinsurers use it from submission intake and loss runs through to underwriting audits and claims, inside the systems they already work in, from Guidewire and Duck Creek to Salesforce, Applied, Outlook and SharePoint, via more than 100 integrations.

The company has moved quickly. Founded in November 2023 by Aman Gour and Sashank Gondala, it came through Y Combinator and closed a seed round and a US$25 million Series A led by a16z within six months of each other in 2025, taking total funding to US$30 million. It now serves 5 of the top-10 U.S. carriers and 5 of the top-15 brokers and wholesalers, and processes roughly US$30 billion in premium across all 50 states. At one top-10 global carrier, a single complex statement of values used to take the Large Property team up to five days. It now takes less than ten minutes, and every new and renewal submission runs through the platform.

Recognition has come largely from the buyers themselves. In October 2026 FurtherAI was named AI Implementation of the Year at the Insurance Insider US Honors, after being voted Most Loved by Industry Executives on The Agentic List, named to the CB Insights AI 100 as the only company on it built specifically for insurance, ranked third among InsurTech Digital’s Top 10 Insurtech Startups, shortlisted for two Insurance Insider Honours and named to Harmonic’s Hot 25 Startups, following places in 2025 on CB Insights’ InsurTech 50 and Fintech 100 and Globalscape’s US AI 100. Over the same period it joined the Accelerant Marketplace, became a Guidewire Technology Partner, worked with OpenAI on handling insurance documents more than 900 pages long, launched on Microsoft Marketplace, opened offices in San Francisco and New York, expanded into the UK and EU, and signed its first Canadian customer, RMA Insurance, and first health and benefits customer, Sidecar Health. Zachary Hirsch, who helped scale Verkada past US$1 billion in revenue, joined as SVP to lead commercial growth.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Earning belief in a market tired of AI promises

Most insurance leaders can name a pilot that dazzled in the boardroom and then quietly stalled before it reached the underwriting desk. The result is a buying culture that has learned to be careful, and a crowded field of vendors who all sound much the same.

That was the position FurtherAI found itself in. Inside its customer base, the case was already made: insurance were running live work on the platform every day. Outside it, FurtherAI was one more name on a long list of companies offering “AI for insurance,” and no amount of advertising or outbound email was going to separate it from the rest.

Sceptical buyers would only be persuaded by seeing the product handle documents like their own, and by meeting the people who built it.

The structure of an insurance sale raised the bar further. A deal needs two very different groups to agree:

  • The people who own the work and feel the backlog every day: underwriting and claims leaders, operations heads, MGA principals, and broker and wholesaler executives.
  • IT, data and security leaders who decide whether any new platform is allowed through the door.

Winning one group without the other rarely leads anywhere.

The harder question was where to find both at once. The answer was Insurtech Insights USA, where more than 6,500 insurance professionals gather in a single venue over two days.

For a company at FurtherAI’s stage, it offered the chance to reach in a week what might otherwise take months, and to do three jobs together:

Three keys to FurtherAI’s approach

Introduce the product to buyers who had only read about it

Spend proper time with existing customers

Build the kind of name recognition that makes every later conversation easier

THE SOLUTION

Turning a conference into a proof point

FurtherAI’s first appearance at Insurtech Insights USA came in 2025, when Aman Gour joined a Purple Stage panel on the future of commercial property insurance alongside leaders from Vantage Risk, Golden Bear Insurance Company and Deloitte, and sat down with Isabelle Vleminckx, Global Partnerships Manager at Insurtech Insights, to discuss how AI is changing underwriting. It gave the company a voice in the conversation. The following year, it set out to lead part of it.

01

Building the show as a marketing campaign, not a one-off event

FurtherAI did not simply prepare for the 2026 show. It designed it from the start as a marketing campaign, with a beginning, a middle and an end. In the weeks leading up to it, everyone at FurtherAI let their networks know they would be there, and meetings were secured with the accounts that mattered most. The team agreed in advance which conversations it wanted to film, so the event would keep producing value after it closed. Follow-up messages were written before anyone left New York.

02

Keeping the product in view on the show floor, not just on stage

The 2025 panel had introduced FurtherAI to the room. In 2026, the team wanted buyers to see the product for themselves, on documents like their own. Booth #543 at the Javits Center became that place. Across both days, FurtherAI ran live demonstrations on genuine insurance workflows, so an underwriting leader and an IT or security head could stand side by side and watch the platform work through the kind of document that lands on their teams’ desks every morning. The booth was staffed by people who could answer the hardest questions from either group on the spot: CEO Aman Gour, UK Regional Managing Director Tom Bradley and the go-to-market team.

03

Replacing the vendor pitch with a customer's own story

FurtherAI knew insurance buyers trust other insurance leaders far more than a vendor. So it used the guest tickets that came with its sponsorship to bring customers and partners to New York. Doug Alexander, CTO of Upland Capital Group, explained on camera why Upland chose the platform and how its use has grown since.

They also returned to the stage, this time alongside a carrier. In a panel discussion on the Red Stage, Arron Lamp, who leads technology for Tokio Marine HCC’s Public Risk Group, set out what it really takes to deploy AI at scale: clean data and business logic, one well-defined use case to start, and a workflow where every output can be audited. It is close to how FurtherAI builds its own platform, and FurtherAI shared the key points on its blog the same week.

Insurance is moving from experimenting with AI to running on it, and that shift will be shaped by the people who do the work, not the people selling the tools. Insurtech Insights is where those people come together.

THE IMPACT

A faster start to every sales conversation

Series A raised by FurtherAI, led by a16z

Several conversations that began at the booth became scheduled follow-up meetings the same week, and the company counts the 2026 show among its strongest events of the year.

The bigger change was in how those conversations began. In enterprise insurance sales, the first meeting is usually the hardest to win, often reached through a cold email and met with understandable doubt.

At Insurtech Insights, buyers arrived having already watched the platform work on documents they recognised. The scepticism had been dealt with before the first meeting was booked.

The event also gave FurtherAI something most channels force a choice between: reach and depth. In the space of a week, the team could meet a prospect for the first time, show them the product, agree a next step, and still spend time with existing customers in the same hall.

The value has outlasted the show. The Upland interview has become one of FurtherAI’s most effective pieces of content, because insurance buyers trust other insurance leaders more than any vendor, and the conversation with Arron Lamp continues to carry the same message months later.

All of this sits alongside a year of rapid growth: since Aman first took the stage in June 2025, FurtherAI has closed its a16z-led Series A, joined CB Insights’ InsurTech 50 and AI 100 lists, and grown to serve 10 of the top 25 insurance organizations

Beyond the numbers

In 2025, FurtherAI came to Insurtech Insights USA as a panellist. A year later, it returned with its own booth, a larger team and customers telling its story on camera.

In 2027, it is coming back for more. The plan is to bring a customer on stage to talk through what it really takes to get AI into production at an insurer, and to keep the conversation going between events through a webinar series with Insurtech Insights.
