Cybersecurity startup Cytix has raised $7 million in Series A funding to scale its change risk management platform as AI-assisted software development accelerates the pace and volume of code changes.

The round was led by Northern Gritstone, with participation from existing investors Auriga Cyber Ventures and NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance, managed by PXN Ventures.

Cytix focuses on a gap it sees in traditional cybersecurity tools, which tend to identify vulnerabilities but provide less insight into the business risk created by individual software changes.

The company said AI-assisted coding, agentic workflows and continuous delivery are allowing software changes to happen at increasing speed, making it harder for security teams to maintain visibility and control.

“AI-assisted development means change now happens at machine speed,” said Ben Armstrong, CEO of Cytix. “Existing tools can tell you what vulnerabilities you have, but can’t tell you about the risk.”

Cytix’s platform continuously monitors software changes, assesses the security risks they create and determines the appropriate response. It also validates how risks have been addressed and creates an evidence trail to support regulatory and compliance requirements.

The platform sits between software development teams and an organisation’s security, risk and compliance functions, providing a central view of what has changed, the potential business impact and how the resulting risks were handled.

The funding will support Cytix’s expansion among enterprise and regulated organisations, where governance around software changes is becoming increasingly important as AI-generated code becomes more prevalent.

The platform is available directly from Cytix and through managed service partnerships with NCC Group and KPMG.
