INTX Insurance Software has launched Tenet, which it describes as the insurance industry’s first native intelligence layer embedded directly into a unified (re)insurance operating system, as insurers increasingly look to move beyond standalone AI assistants toward enterprise-wide decision support.
Rather than operating as a separate generative AI tool, Tenet is built into the INTX platform, giving it access to operational, contractual and financial data spanning underwriting, policy administration, reinsurance, claims, accounting and financial operations.
The launch reflects a broader shift across the insurance technology market, where software vendors are increasingly positioning AI as a core capability embedded within policy administration and underwriting systems rather than as standalone productivity tools.
Tenet introduces four core intelligence capabilities. Treaty Intelligence converts reinsurance treaties into structured operational data to support onboarding and governance. Policy Intelligence extracts information from policy documents, including coverages, exclusions, limits and endorsements, to reduce manual review. Underwriting Intelligence evaluates submissions against underwriting guidelines, authority levels and carrier appetite, while Knowledge Intelligence connects information across policies, treaties, claims, accounting and underwriting to provide contextual insights throughout the business.
According to INTX, the platform operates across its ReinsureConnect ceded reinsurance platform, INTX Re assumed reinsurance platform and INTX Core commercial P&C system, creating a single intelligence layer across underwriting, reinsurance, claims and financial operations.
Rob Lewis, chief executive officer of INTX, said many technology providers are adding AI to fragmented systems, limiting the context available to support complex insurance decisions.
“The insurance industry doesn’t need another AI assistant,” Lewis said. “AI is only as powerful as the information it understands. Most platforms are layering AI onto fragmented systems. We built a unified operating system first. Tenet is the natural evolution of that architecture, delivering intelligence with the full context of the business—not just individual tasks or documents.”
Devon Ellett, chief operating officer and co-founder of INTX, said insurance has always depended on interpreting complex information across multiple business functions.
“Every underwriting decision, treaty interpretation, claims determination and financial outcome depends on understanding complex information,” Ellett said. “Tenet delivers that knowledge in context, helping organizations make faster, more consistent decisions every day.”
INTX said future development of Tenet will extend into claims operations, financial analytics, portfolio intelligence, capital management, regulatory reporting and enterprise decision support as the company expands its AI capabilities across the platform.
