Gallagher has appointed Adam Sullivan as Chief Executive Officer of Gallagher Specialty Asia, strengthening its leadership as the global broker accelerates growth across specialist lines in the region.
Sullivan brings more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, with deep expertise in aviation and specialty risk. He joined Gallagher in 2019 as Senior Partner and Managing Director for Aviation Asia Pacific and was promoted to CEO of Aerospace Asia Pacific in April 2024. Prior to joining Gallagher, he held senior roles at JLT Risk Solutions Asia and spent 17 years at Marsh, most recently as a Senior Vice President.

In his new role, Sullivan will oversee Gallagher’s specialty operations across Asia, building on the firm’s strategy to expand its presence in high-growth specialty markets and strengthen its regional underwriting and broking capabilities. The appointment reflects Gallagher’s broader ambition to scale its specialty platform in Asia amid rising demand for complex risk solutions across aviation, energy, construction, financial lines, and other specialty segments.
Industry sources have reported that Sullivan will retain responsibility for Gallagher’s aerospace business in Asia Pacific while taking on the wider specialty leadership remit, underscoring the strategic importance of aviation and complex risks within the broker’s regional portfolio.
Gallagher confirmed the appointment as part of its ongoing investment in Asia, where the broker has been steadily expanding its footprint through acquisitions, leadership hires, and specialist capability development.
Commenting on the move, Gallagher said Sullivan’s extensive experience in aviation and specialty insurance, combined with his track record of delivering bespoke client solutions, positions him to lead the next phase of growth in the region.
Sullivan began his career in the aviation insurance market in 1992 and has spent more than two decades working across Asia, building expertise in placement strategies and risk solutions for airlines, airports, and aerospace providers.
The appointment comes at a time when global brokers are intensifying their focus on Asia’s specialty insurance markets, driven by infrastructure investment, aviation growth, and increasing demand for sophisticated risk transfer solutions. Gallagher’s decision to elevate leadership in the region reflects the strategic importance of Asia within its global specialty business.
