Sedgwick has announced the launch of its Global Specialty platform, expanding its capabilities in handling large and complex losses across marine, energy and other technical risk categories. The move marks a significant step in the company’s global specialty claims strategy as demand for advanced, cross-border expertise continues to grow.
The new platform brings together Sedgwick’s specialty claims operations on a global scale, with expanded capabilities in London and other key insurance and reinsurance markets. These capabilities are supported by dedicated training programmes and Sedgwick’s established global operating infrastructure.
Global Specialty will be headquartered in London and led by Damian Ely as Chief Executive Officer and Kevin Haganas Chief Commercial Officer. Additional hubs will operate across Asia, the Middle East and the Americas, enabling coordinated support for complex claims across regions.
More than 100 specialty loss adjusters are expected to join the platform. David Boghurst will lead Global Specialty Marine, adding both technical and average adjusting expertise, while Hugh Kennaway will oversee onshore energy and Gary Mawditt will lead offshore energy operations.
The platform is designed to enhance cross-border claims coordination and align specialty teams globally, ensuring consistent delivery of technical expertise as claims complexity increases across multiple risk classes.
Paul White, CEO, International at Sedgwick, said:
“In a world where risk is evolving faster than ever, Sedgwick is proud to introduce our new Global Specialty platform, a bold, forward-looking platform designed to meet the growing complexity of global claims with unmatched technical expertise and reach. This is not just an expansion. It’s a strategic transformation with the best in the industry leading the way.”
The launch reinforces Sedgwick’s commitment to strengthening its specialty claims offering and delivering tailored solutions for complex risks across the global insurance and reinsurance market.
