Hamilton Re, a specialty reinsurance and insurance company, has promoted Susan Steinhoff to Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of Hamilton Re, its Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance underwriting platform, effective January 1, 2026.

In her new role, Steinhoff will lead underwriting activities across Hamilton Re and report to Adrian Daws, Chief Executive Officer. Hamilton stated that Steinhoff’s appointment supports the company’s continued focus on strengthening underwriting capabilities and delivering exceptional value to clients and partners.

Steinhoff brings more than 25 years of insurance industry experience to the position. She previously held senior roles at ACE (now Chubb) and joined Hamilton in its early days in 2014, where she has played a key role in the development of the company’s underwriting operations.

Hamilton also highlighted that the leadership changes reinforce continuity across its underwriting teams. As part of the transition, Peter Riihiluoma has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Head of Property Reinsurance, while Sergio Lottimore has assumed the role of Senior Vice President, Head of Specialty Reinsurance.
