The integration gives landlords and property investors more flexibility, competitive pricing, and tailored coverage aligned with their investment strategies.
The move comes amid a tightening insurance market, where fluctuating rates and stricter underwriting are creating challenges for property owners. By adding Markel to its platform, Obie aims to provide greater choice and control to investors seeking dependable coverage. The partnership follows Obie’s recent integrations with Hadron Specialty Insurance and Southlake Specialty Insurance.
Through the collaboration, Markel’s landlord insurance products are now fully integrated into Obie’s digital quoting platform. Property owners can quote and bind coverage directly online, or work with an advisor, while insurance agents and embedded partners also gain access to new options.
Markel’s offering covers 1–4 unit rental properties, including tenant-occupied and short-term rentals, and is designed to meet demand in harder-to-place markets such as parts of the Southeast and Midwest.
“This partnership reinforces Obie’s commitment to giving investors real choice in a space that often overlooks them,” said Judson Taylor, Head of Insurance Product at Obie. “Markel brings quality and flexibility to our growing network of partners, helping our users protect their properties and advance their investments.”
With the addition of Markel, Obie continues to strengthen its carrier panel and broaden insurance options for landlords, agents, and partners across the U.S.
