The deal marks a pivotal step in Ideagen’s mission to enhance safety and operational excellence, particularly in sectors such as mining, construction, and manufacturing. Reactec’s cloud-based platform and workplace wearables allow businesses to monitor and proactively manage hazards including vibration, dust, noise, and proximity risks.
“This is a significant milestone for Ideagen as we continue to invest in technologies that address real-world challenges faced by our customers,” said Ben Dorks, CEO of Ideagen. “Reactec’s wearable technology and data analytics are a perfect complement to our portfolio, putting cutting-edge tools directly into the hands of those who need it most. Together, we are setting new standards for workplace safety and risk mitigation.”
Jacqui McLaughlin, CEO of Reactec, said the move would extend the company’s reach and impact. “Our core mission has always been to protect workers and provide actionable insights that foster healthier and safer work environments,” she said. “Becoming part of Ideagen allows us to provide even greater value to organizations that are forward-thinking in their approach to health and wellbeing. Like Ideagen, we seek to prevent – not just mitigate – risk.”
Reactec was originally spun out of the University of Edinburgh and received early backing from Archangel Investors, a Scottish investment syndicate. Archangels supported the company’s evolution from a specialized hand-arm vibration monitoring tool into a broad workplace safety platform. “Over several years, Archangels has supported Reactec’s transformation into a platform delivering meaningful health outcomes for workers,” said David Ovens, Joint Managing Director of Archangels. “We’re particularly pleased to see recent strong growth in both domestic and international markets and look forward to seeing the business flourish as part of Ideagen’s global network.”
By integrating Reactec’s technology with Ideagen’s established suite of environmental health and safety (EHS) software, customers will gain access to enhanced tools for monitoring and managing workplace risks. The acquisition underscores Ideagen’s commitment to innovation in building safer, healthier, and more compliant workplaces, while also improving operational efficiency.
More than 16,000 companies worldwide use Ideagen to manage quality, risk, audit, and compliance challenges. Its customer base spans some of the world’s largest organizations across mining, construction, aerospace, defense, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and professional services.
The purchase of Reactec is Ideagen’s sixth acquisition in 2025. It follows last week’s addition of WorkSafe Guardian to its EHS portfolio and earlier deals that included ConvergePoint, SafeFood 360, and Authenticate.
