The collaboration enables every insurer in Denmark to track and offset the carbon emissions associated with various stages of a vehicle’s life cycle, including Scope 3 emissions.
Solera’s Sustainable Estimatics tool, integrated into Autotaks, allows insurers to measure emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3. This comprehensive approach sets a new standard for the industry, aligning with Denmark’s ambitious goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
In a recent social media post, Jing Liao, Solera’s Chairwoman of Executive Sustainability Committee and CAO said of the move: “One bold step at a time, every step matters—every individual, every company, every nation—do not stop or wait for others to take action. Instead, please step up and lead, drive the change necessary to create a better world for future generations. We will shape the legacy we leave behind.”
By tracking carbon emissions, insurers can gain valuable insights into their environmental impact and take steps to reduce their carbon footprint. The tool also helps insurers comply with the upcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which will require businesses to report their carbon emissions.
Solera’s Sustainable Estimatics is the only solution specifically designed for the auto insurance sector, offering accurate and trusted data. The tool provides detailed dashboards, allowing insurers to compare their performance against industry benchmarks and identify areas for improvement.
The partnership between F&P and Solera not only benefits the environment but also improves efficiency within the insurance industry. By accurately assessing vehicle damage using OEM data, insurers can streamline workflows with body shops and provide a more efficient service to customers.
Peder Herbo, director of Autotaks at F&P stated: “Solera’s solution is accredited, so not only does it provide the wealth of data offered, but we know its data has been verified as trusted to provide the accuracy we need. It will enable us to set a new standard for measuring the CO2 emissions of auto insurance claims across the entire country, supporting the industry in reducing its carbon footprint and improving efficiency.”
By embracing sustainable practices and leveraging technology, Denmark is leading the way in the transition to a greener future.
Franck Carpentier, Solera’s International Channel Sales & Operations Director, added: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with F&P, a market leader that shares our commitment to shaping a more sustainable automotive industry. Denmark is already at the forefront of countries leading the charge on measuring and reducing carbon emissions, and this partnership will not only benefit the environment but also improve efficiency across the claims process.”
