Allianz has announced new chief executive officer appointments at Allianz Partners and Allianz Direct, following Tomas Kunzmann's appointment to the Allianz SE Board of Management.
Philipp Kroetz, currently chief executive officer of Allianz Direct, will become chief executive officer of Allianz Partners, effective 1 November 2026. He succeeds Tomas Kunzmann, who joins the Allianz SE Board of Management on 1 January 2027. Kroetz has led Allianz Direct since 2022, turning the business into an expanding and profitable European digital platform for property and casualty (P&C) insurance, serving more than 3.2 million customers.
Laurent Floquet, currently chief operating officer of Allianz Partners, will succeed Kroetz as chief executive officer of Allianz Direct, also effective 1 November 2026. He brings deep expertise in mobility and service-led customer solutions to the role. A successor for Floquet will be announced in due course. The appointments are subject to regulatory approval.
Under the leadership of Allianz SE board member Sirma Boshnakova, Kroetz, Floquet, and Kunzmann have all been integral to Allianz's Connected Platforms concept, which aims to provide affordable and individualised experiences for customers at scale.

Kroetz, 46, has been chief executive officer of Allianz Direct since January 2022. Under his leadership, the business nearly doubled its customer base to more than 3.2 million across five European markets, while improving its customer rating from 4.4 to 4.6 stars. In 2025, total business volume exceeded €1.5bn at a 95% combined ratio, representing 23% year-on-year growth, with innovations ranging from AI-powered claims settlement within 60 seconds to indicative pricing via ChatGPT. He joined Allianz Group from McKinsey & Company in 2011 and spent 10 years at Allianz Partners before serving as regional CEO for the German-speaking countries, and later as chief transformation officer and a member of the board of management from 2019.
Floquet, 49, has been chief operating officer of Allianz Partners since January 2025, overseeing the implementation of AI-assisted customer solutions such as AI voice agents and automated claims handling across roadside assistance, travel, and medical cases. He joined Allianz Group in 2014 as head of business development for Allianz Technology, later becoming chief sales officer for the Assistance business and regional CEO for the DACH and Eastern European markets, before being appointed chief officer for Mobility & Assistance in 2022. Before joining Allianz, he spent more than 10 years at Accenture as a partner focused on the insurance industry.
