Niels is head of global sales, Insurance Business Applications (IBA). Niels has spent more than 20 years as a provider of technology solutions for the global insurance industry and has encountered all types for insurance products, distribution channels, business models, propositions, and value propositions over the years. Niels has a passion for technology innovations as a source for business value creation and has throughout his journey been building modern insurance propositions deeply rooted in traditional risk mitigation.

Following a decade with IBM, Niels joined Danish insurance core systems provider Tia and led the expansion of the company throughout Europe, South Africa, and Latin America. Most recently before joining IBA, Niels provided advice and consultancy to European insurers on digitalization, transformation and most importantly, value creation from the use of technology.

Niels holds a master’s degree in economy and Strategy from Copenhagen Business University, supplemented with executive training at INSEAD. In his spare time, Niels is a passionate basketball player and -coach – and is looking forward to the skiing season of 2021-2022!
