David McFarland is a recovering actuary who is passionate about innovating in the insurance space. 

As co-founder and CEO of Coterie Insurance, David directs the insurtech in simplifying commercial insurance through data and design. He is passionate about finding ways to save time and foster ease of use through digital-based, innovative solutions. 

Prior to founding Coterie, David served as Chief Actuary and Head of Insurance Product & Pricing at Clearcover, a personal auto insurtech. David is a Fellow in the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

 When David isn’t leading the Coterie team, you might find him on the basketball court, in the mountains, or deep in an Excel spreadsheet as he loves to work on math/logic problems and puzzles. He also stays busy with his wife and four children.
